Bands Of America Marching Championships

We are proud to annouce that the Trojan Pride will be returning to the Super-Regional Contest held in St. Louis. The Trojan Pride has been a consistent finalist at BOA Regional and Super-Regional events for the past decade. Below is general information. Detailed information will be added as the contest approaches. It will be possible to purchase tickets for this contest in advance. A general itinerary for this trip is posted below. The performance time in preliminary competition for the Trojan Pride is slotted for Saturday afternoon at 12:00pm.

Rehearsal Schedule for the Week

Monday - Regular School Day and Morning Rehearsal. 
Tuesday - Regular School Day and Morning Rehearsal. Evening Rehearsal is 6:00-8:30. 
Wednesday - No School - Fall Break. Extended Afternoon Rehearsal is 3:30-6:30.
Thursday - Early Luggage Check In (7:30am). Morning rehearsal (9:00-12:00). Load and depart around lunch time. Dinner. Hotel Check In - Four Points by Sheraton in Fairview Heights, Ill.
Friday  - Morning rehearsal. Lunch. Watch bands part of the day. Dinner.
Saturday - breakfast, light music and body practice, lunch. Prelim performance. Awards ceremony. Finals. Hotel.
Sunday - breakfast, depart for Jenks, arrival mid-afternoon.

Band Parent Meeting

The band parent meeting for the St. Louis Trip is scheduled for Thursday, October 3rd, 7:00 PM in the Building 6 Auditorium.

Live Stream Performance

All Bands of America Championships are live streamed on FloMarching. FloMarching is dedicated to the world of competitive marching bands. Anyone who cannot come to the event, the live stream offers a way to watch all performances. Visit FloMarching.com to see monthly and annual subscription options.

Payment Information

Opt In/Opt Out Contract

The anticipated cost for the trip is $400.00. Payments begin in June and continue through August. All information, payment deadlines, and criteria were included on the form (a copy of the form may still be downloaded for reference). Parents and students should be thoroughly familiar with all information included on the contract. Parents and students should understand that if payments are not made on time, the trip WILL be cancelled. Any fees or penalties received from cancelling reservations will be applied to student trip accounts.

Payment Schedule

Students and families should save and financially plan to insure their participation in this important event. Each payment listed in the Opt In contract will be required to be in full and on time in order for students to participate in summer rehearsals, pre-band, and school rehearsals. Students and parents should be thoroughly familiar with the Trip Fund and High School Band Handbook Policies.

Remember, your child will not be allowed to travel and participation may be reduced so the band may thoroughly prepared for competition if full payment has not received by September 30, 2019.

Summer Payment Methods

1) ONLINE - Credit card payments may be made online.  Click on "Store", then go to Categories and select "Trip Account Payments". Select the option that allows you to make a credit card payment of any amount towards your student's trip account. Please note that a 3% processing fee will be added to your credit card payment.   

2) MAILING - Mail checks to Jenks Band Parents, P.O. Box 425, Jenks, OK  74037.  Checks should be made payable to JBP - JHS. 

Remember, your child will not be allowed to travel on BOA trips if full payment is not received by September 28, 2018.

Chaperone Information

Parents wishing to serve as chaperones for overnight trips will be required to go through the application process with the Jenks Band Parents Organization. The deadline to apply to be a chaperone for the BOA Super-Regional Contest in St. Louis is Friday, September 7th. 

To be a chaperone, the Jenks Public School Volunteer training, Lobby Guard screening and signature confirmation of reading the Chaperone Handbook is required in order to support the band program as a chaperone.
