The band is traveling out of state to Blue Springs High School and the Golden Regiment Invitational Marching Contest.
The cost for this trip is now finalized at $140.00 per student. Cost is based upon number of students in the band program and covers the charter bus, equipment trucks, hotel rooms for drivers, meals, and other expenses associated with this trip. Payment is required regardless of eligibility status.
The total cost has been split into two payments of $70.00. Payments are due on Monday, September 13th and Monday, September 27th.
Initial Information - We will be coming home the night before from the football game vs. Broken Arrow. Most items will remain loaded in the semi trailer after the game and be ready to go on Saturday morning. It will be necessary for students to put away marching band uniforms Friday night AND have all parts of the show performance costume ready for Saturday morning. Students will also need to bring their show shirt with them to this contest (shirts will be passed out on Thursday or Friday). When not in uniform, students are required to wear the show shirt for this contest.
Band Room Unlocked 6:00 am - No need to be here before then. Students should be dressed in maroons and grays upon arrival. Students do not need to arrive with show performance hair done, but will need to be ready to do this with all the regular unloading procedures. Students will need to bring all necessary products/items to touch up/redo show performance hair throughout the day/before each performance.
Load Semi, Box Trucks, and Uniforms 6:30 am - Students have 45 minutes to load. Follow established procedures and get everything ready to go. Uniform racks will not be used for this trip. Uniforms will be stored underneath the buses during the trip, but then moved up into the cabin upon arrival. Extra effort will be necessary to keep uniforms clean, wrinkle free, and in good shape throughout the day. Make sure you load the show performance uniform, not the regular marching band uniform.
Load Buses 7:15 am - Instructions given before loading buses. Go to the restroom before getting on the bus.
Depart for Blue Springs 7:30 am - Need to be prompt with departure. Lunch will be served on the bus at 11:00am. This will allow more time for us to unload, change into uniforms, fix hair, and get ready for warm up.
Arrive in Blue Springs 11:30 am - Check in, wristbands distributed, park, get ready for basic unloading & set up.
Unload Instruments & Equipment - Instruments, cases, and equipment should be laid out in an organized manner in our area - whether it is around the buses or the trucks. Show performance hair will need to be done during this time as well. Additional details, instructions, info will have been given during talk time before departure.
Change Into Uniforms - Students should change into uniform on buses, not outside. Do not sit on tops of bus seats as it tears up the seats over a period of time. A few reminders: never lay uniform on the ground, pavement, box truck, bus mirror, etc. They pick up dirt very easily. Remember there are no uniform racks for this contest. Uniforms, bags, and hangers will be in the cabin during the days. This will help keep the hanging bags clean and prevent hangers from getting broken.
Lined Up in Contest Block 1:20 pm - Ready to Transit to Warm-Up Area - Front Ensemble and Battery will be on a slightly different time schedule as their warm up areas are in different locations than the rest of the group.
Warm Up 1:35 pm - It may very well be warm. Be ready for the sun to be in your face. Drink plenty of water. Conserve your energy. The warm up for this contest is an all-inclusive warm up for 40 minutes, but we will separate it into 2 segments: stretch and marching fundamentals - this will be without music; and then music warm up - sectional and full group warm ups. We will be surrounded by other bands going through the same process. It will be loud. Concentrate on what we are doing. Do not to be distracted as we prepare for competition.
Preliminary Performance 2:45 pm - Nail It!
Post Performance 3:00 pm - Return to camp. Change out of uniform and organize equipment for finals performance. Students are required to wear show shirt during down time.
Prelims Awards 3:30 pm - Prelim awards. Drum Majors be ready for awards assembly.
Dinner & Talk Time 5:00 pm - Dinner and Talk Time. The time in-between prelims and finals WILL be spent OFF OF YOUR FEET. Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay rested. Be smart and conserve your physical and mental energy for our finals performance.

Post Performance 8:30 pm - Return to camp. Put away instruments and equipment. Uniforms stay on for massing. We sit together as a group and watch some bands perform at the end of the evening. Details about uniforms and massing will be outlined during talk time.
Massing of the Bands 10:00pm - Finals Award Ceremony, Critique with Directors.
After massing, directors go to critique and everything is loaded up. Students should be on the buses ready to go by the time directors are back from critique.
Estimated Departure 12:00 am
Estimated Return 4:00 am - Unload. Put everything away properly. Make sure ride home is ready to pick you up.

Monday Morning Rehearasl 9:15 am - Watch performance video and listen to judges comments. Tuesday morning will return to regular rehearsal schedule.
