The environment at BA is unique. Concentration and a steady disposition are necessary for this performance/game. This will be addressed during talk time.
Everyone needs to bring and use their flip folder. As with every game we play at, there will be a flip folder check and a grade taken.
Students may park in the music building parking lot, but no cars (students or parents) should be in the loading zones. This area needs to be kept clear of traffic for buses and trucks, as well as for safety reasons. All - Please drive through parking lot areas slowly. We do not want any accidents or injuries.
All students need to bring their Trojan Pride water jug that day. Jugs should be full when students bring them that morning. Water will be available to students to refill after school and during the game. Jugs should only be filled with water - not sports drinks, pop, etc.
4:00 Uniform Check Out. Load Semi and Box Trucks. Be careful in loading zones. School is getting out and the parking lot will be very busy. Front Ensemble & Guard Report (see details from Ms. Jara on guard page). Semi will leave early to get a good parking place and to help with unloading procedures for this game. Remember to bring everything with you Friday morning. You will not have a chance to go home after school. Hair is show performance hair.
4:45 Load Buses. Students will load buses as they arrive and depart at staggered times in order to get enough time to unload, warm up and perform at pre-game. Bus assignments will be made in order to allow students who need the most time unloading to get to BA first.
5:00 Staggered Departure for BA. Eat on bus - meal organized by band parents.
5:45 Staggered Arrival at BA. Unload and prepare for warm ups.
6:10 Anticipated Warm Up. Warm ups will most likely be in sectionals only. Given the amount of time, it will be a challenge getting warmed up, putting equipment in stands, and getting lined up for pre-game performance. We did it once this year at the Union game and can do it again. This time, the drive will be longer this time and the warm up time will be shorter.
6:30 Anticipated Time For Pre-Game Performance. We are going to be at this stadium again later in the year. Pay attention to where the press box is located (both distance and height). Let's take advantage of the opportunity, have a great performance, and evaluate what we have seen and heard in order to apply it to future performances this season.
7:00 Game begins. Fruit will be passed out during halftime.
10:00 Estimated End of Game. Short Talk time. Load up and go home.
11:30 Estimated Arrival Back Home. Contest at Blue Springs the next day. Semi truck and box trucks will stay loaded for the most part. Uniform check in. (Keep in mind that the show performance costume will be utilized for the Blue Springs Contest).
12:15 Band Room Locked. Go home as soon as possible. Get some good rest. Big day on Saturday at Blue Springs.
