Bands Of America Marching Championships

We are pleased to announce that the Trojan Pride will be returning to the BOA circuit this coming fall. The Trojan Pride has a rich history of competing in BOA Marching Events - being a consistent Regional and Super-Regional finalist for the past decade. This year the band will travel to the Super-Regional Marching Contest in Indianapolis. The dates of the trip are tentatively set for Wednesday, October 19th through Sunday, October 23rd.

Opt In/Opt Out Contract

The anticipated cost for the trip is $600.00. This trip cost is in addition to registration fees (which are due in May). Payments begin in June and continue through August. Students were given a copy of the opt in/opt out form oMonday, May 9th. All information, payment deadlines, and criteria are included on the form (a copy of the form may still be downloaded for reference). Parents and students should read through and be thoroughly familiar with all information included in the contract. Forms are to be returned to Mr. Hillock on or before May 21st (which is also Registration Day). Forms may be handed in person to Mr. Hillock or scanned and emailed to scott.hillock@jenksps.org. Do not send pictures of the contract as they are not an acceptable form of documentation.

Payment Schedule

Students and families should save and financially plan to insure their participation in this important event. Each payment listed in the Opt In contract will be required to be in full and on time in order for students to participate in summer rehearsals, pre-band, and school rehearsals. Students and parents should be thoroughly familiar with the Trip Fund and High School Band Handbook Policies.

Summer Payment Methods

1) ONLINE - Credit card payments may be made online through the band parents website trip account page.

2) MAILING - Mail checks to Jenks Band Parents, P.O. Box 425, Jenks, OK  74037.  Checks should be made payable to Jenks Band Parents.  

Chaperone Information

Parents wishing to serve as chaperones for overnight trips will be required to go through the application process with the Jenks Band Parents Organization. Parents are required to serve at football games and contests prior to the Indianapolis trip. The deadline to apply to be a chaperone for the BOA Super-Regional Contest in St. Louis is Friday, September 30th. 

To be a chaperone, the Jenks Public School Volunteer training, Lobby Guard screening and signature confirmation of reading the Chaperone Handbook is required in order to support the band program as a chaperone.

   Wednesday - early morning departure, potential rehearsal enroute, late arrival in Indy
   Thursday - breakfast, section & full group meeting, lunch, afternoon rehearsal, dinner
   Friday - potential morning rehearsal, afternoon performance time
   Saturday - potential light morning rehearsal, preliminary competition in the late morning, finals
   Sunday - hotel check out, return to Jenks
