Jenks Band

OSSAA District Concert Band Competition is March 10th and 11th at Cushing High School. 6th Hour Band will attend on March 10th, and 5th Hour Band will attend on March 11th. Both bands will have identical schedules on the day that they attend. Parents are allowed to attend the performance, however they are not allowed to attend the warm-up or the sight-reading portion. Cushing High School is located at 1700 E. Walnut Street, Cushing, OK.

Students will wear their contest attire:

black, long-sleeve, button-down collared shirt TUCKED IN
black slacks
black dress shoes
black socks or hose

Schedule of the day:

9:05 AM Students check in with first hour teacher. They should arrive to school wearing contest black attire. Go to band room for last minute instructions.
9:15 AM Load buses.
9:30 AM Depart for Cushing High School
10:30 AM Arrive at Cushing High School. Unload equipment. Students will need to unload instruments from cases and place the cases back on the bus. Mrs. Cryer will be checking into the contest at this time. Stay quiet, calm, and purposeful.
10:55 AM Warm-up
11:20 AM Perform
11:45 AM Sight-read
12:05 PM Load buses. Mrs. Cryer will be getting results. Again, stay quiet, calm, and purposeful.
12:15 PM. Leave for Jenks Middle School
1:15 PM. Arrive at JMS. Put away equipment then go to cafeteria. Lunch will be over (or nearly over) but the cafeteria workers will hold line one for you. Go to the Annex and eat at tables still available to you. Please be mindful to the cafeteria workers who are trying to clean and work. You will all need to sit together-- not spread out-- so that they can continue to clean tables around you. If you want to change into regular school clothes, you must get your food from the line FIRST, then eat, then get permission from a band director to change clothing quickly in the cafeteria restroom.
1:40 PMish: Go to 5th hour when your teacher dismisses you. (6th hour students: Mr. Hutson will dismiss you. 5th hour students: I will walk with you to our classroom.)
