Bands Of America Marching Championships

We are proud to announce that the Trojan Pride will be returning to the Bands of America Grand National Championships for only the 4th time in school's history. 2013 marked the first year that the Trojan Pride ever competed at this prestigious contest, proudly making semi-finals in their first showing. The Trojan Pride looks to extend this streak and improve upon placement and overall score. A general itinerary for this trip is posted below.

General Trip Itinerary

Tuesday - Load both Semi Trucks after school (Added to Itinerary on 11/7/24)
Wednesday - Early Luggage Check In. Load and depart. Meals enroute. Hotel Check In.
Thursday - Rehearsal. Watch bands perform for part of the day.
Friday  - Preliminary Performance in the morning (tentative time is 9:45am). Afternoon Rehearsal. Semi-Finalists Announced after dinner.
Saturday - Morning rehearsal. Semi-Finals Performance. Awards ceremony. Finals.
Sunday - breakfast, depart for Jenks, arrival late evening.

Students not going on this trip are to report to the main band room 9:05 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with Mr. Gartner. Since there are no rehearsals that day, students should plan to do work from other classes or practice their instrument that day.

RULES OF CONDUCT FOR OVERNIGHT TRIPS

For this trip, DVD's may be played on the bus to and from Indy. Students are allowed to bring movies on DVD's that potentially could be watched during the trip. The number and type of movies played are at the discretion of the directors and chaperones on each bus. Movies must fit the criteria listed in the rules of conduct for overnight trips (see rule #16).

Bag Policy

Bands of America encourages spectators not to bring bags into venues. Only clear bags and emergency bags will be permitted. Bag policies are efffective in expediting entry into venues and provide additional safety. Spectators will be allowed to bring items such as cameras, provided they are not in cases that would violate the bag policy at the venue.

Opt In/Opt Out Forms

The cost of the trips to Indianapolis is estimated to be $1,200. There will be five draws (payments) beginning in June and continuing through October in preparation for this fall trip. Specific dates for draws, payments due, and amounts are listed on the Opt In/Opt Out Form. All information, payment deadlines, and criteria were included on the form. Opt In/Opt Out Form

Payment Schedule

Each payment listed in the Opt In contract is required to be in full and on time in order for students to participate in summer rehearsals, pre-band, and school rehearsals. Students and parents should be thoroughly familiar with the Trip Fund and High School Band Handbook Policies.
