As of 9/14/22 - Students have paid and have been entered. Auditions are scheduled to be Saturday, November 5th at Owasso High School.

Transportation is not provided for this event.

9th graders will most likely audition in the morning (approximately 8:30). Some HS students (10-12 grade) will audition around 12:00 and other HS students will audition after lunch (approximately 1:00 or 1:30). Detailed information about auditions will be available approximately two weeks before the event.

In the meantime, students should be dilligently practicing to prepare to play their best audition possible. Make sure you are practicing not only the etudes, but also sight reading and scales. All three components are important in the audition.

Audition information will be made available approximately two weeks before auditions.

Audition Sign Up Information

Students may now sign up to audition for NCDA and OMEA Honor Band auditions. Students in grades 10-12 may audition for NCDA. Students in grades 10-12 may audition for OMEA (In other words, 9th grade students may not audition for OMEA). It is highly recommended that 10-12 students sign up to audition for both. To sign up, students check the appropriate box besides their name on the sheet that is posted in the main band room. Students that audition on more than one instrument will be able to indicate additional instruments that they wish to audition on.

Students should share any important information or corrections that need to be made to information. The deadline for students to sign up is Thursday, September 1st.

OMEA audition fees are $15.00 for each entry. NCDA audition fees are $10.00 for the first entry and $5.00 for each additional entry. Entry fees are due on or before Friday, September 9th. Students paying with cash must have the exact amount in an envelope marked with their name, the amount in the envelope, and what the money is for. Students paying with a check can just turn in the check with appropriate info on the memo line. Money may be turned in to Mr. Hillock or to a parent on Money-Fridays. Students may use their trip fund account only if money is in their account. A request must be made to the trip fund manager before Friday, September 9th in order to use trip fund account money.

Audition Music Information

Audition music is now available for students who want to try out for OMEA All-State and NCDA Regional Honor Bands. No better time than the present to get a solid start on this material. If you do not own these books containing the audition etudes, we highly recommend that you purchase them. It is a great resource to have in your personal library. If you are unable to do so, you may also contact a director to get a copy of the music.
